Marybeth Floyd is a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in both nursing and teaching. With her extensive academic achievements and career in the healthcare sector, Marybeth has consistently demonstrated her commitment to patient care, medical education, and leadership.

Marybeth Floyd achieved her Masters of Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from Union University in Germantown, Tennessee. This educational foundation was further solidified with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution. Marybeth also pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Masters of Arts and Teaching (sans thesis) from the University of Memphis, showcasing her comprehensive academic background.

Over the years, Marybeth has gained valuable experience from several reputed healthcare institutions. Her roles ranged from serving patients directly in urgent care facilities such as Urgent Care of St. Francis and Timber Creek Medical to more specialized roles like her tenure at Corizon Healthcare Solutions. Here, she began as a Nurse Practitioner and was later promoted to Regional Nurse Practitioner for the state of Arkansas. This role entrusted her with a myriad of responsibilities, including recruiting, training, and policy development for the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

As a Regional Nurse Practitioner, Marybeth played an instrumental role in hiring and training a diverse team of medical professionals, streamlining training systems, and setting up clinical rotations for Nurse Practitioner students from UAMS Nursing School.

In her role as a Nurse Practitioner, Marybeth was tasked with diagnosing and treating a vast array of conditions, from acute to palliative care, often seeing up to 60 patients a day. She also exhibited proficiency in various medical procedures like splinting, casting, suturing, and joint injections. Her commitment to patient well-being was further highlighted by her involvement in developing wellness programs, health fairs, and providing monthly education for over 1200 employees at an on-site clinic.

Her experience as a Nurse at institutions like Methodist Hospital and The Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee, saw her leading teams, training new nurses, and emphasizing patient and family education. Marybeth’s dedication to keeping her skills updated is reflected in her accreditations, including CPR and ACLS certifications.
