Dr. Hilgenhurst Teaches Fellow Physicians at IPSIS Bio-Skills Labs
Graf Hilgenhurst, M.D., medical director of Precision Pain Care, served as an instructor at the Neurostimulation Bio-Skills Lab held by the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) in Washington, D.C., on September 26-27, 2026. The course followed the IPSIS Annual Meeting and gave physicians hands-on, small-group training in the implantation techniques used for spinal cord stimulation.
Dr. Hilgenhurst is scheduled to teach again next month at the IPSIS Fluoro-Guided Bio-Skills Lab in New Orleans, October 24-25, 2026. That course has no lectures. Each physician chooses the fluoroscopically guided spine procedures they want to refine and works alongside an instructor in a group of no more than six.
How IPSIS selects its instructors
IPSIS instructors are vetted through written and hands-on examinations. The Society also trains its instructors in the lab and gives them ongoing feedback. Dr. Hilgenhurst was first selected for the Society's teaching faculty in 2010, when it was known as the International Spine Intervention Society.
